SWOT ANALYSIS

Going by our vision, our mission and the kind of business we want o set up, we intend to follow the due process.

As a company, we look forward to maximizing our strengths and opportunity and also to work around our weaknesses and threats. Below is the summary of the result from the SWOT analysis.

OUR STRENGTH

Our strength is in our strong management, robust network, customer loyalty and strong reputation amongst domestic and industry players. Our business is located in Tema and Takoradi the hub of the freight forwarding industry.

OUR WEAKNESS

Our weakness could be a lack of funds, cost structure, or lack of scale compared to our competitors who have already gained ground in the industry. As a new business, we do not have the financial muscles to sustain the kind of publicity we want to give our business. We are also aware that it will take time for the business to build this strong financial foundation.

OUR OPPORTUNITIES

The opportunity that is available to our company is online markets, new services, new technology, and the opening of new branches at other Ports and stations in the country. We will also be open to available opportunities that the city has to offer.

OUR THREATS

Some of the threats we tend to face are mature markets, economic instability, stiff competition and volatile operational costs. Other threats that the business is likely to face are unfavourable government policies, seasonal fluctuation, demographics/social factors in the economy which are likely going to affect consumer spending and of course the emergence of new competitors within the same location where we are located.

MARKET TRENDS

The market trends involved in the industry are indeed dynamic and at the same time challenging. But one thing is certain, once we gain credibility, it will be much easier for us to secure permanent deals/contracts with corporate organizations, merchants and warehouse operators who are involved in moving their goods from one location to the other.

Our target markets

Our target markets are everyone (organizations and individuals as well as those who have cause to move documents, goods and materials from one location to another. In other words, our target market is the whole world. Below is a list of the people and organizations that we have plans to do business

  • Merchants and warehouse operators
  • Retailers who would want to move their goods from one location to the other
  • Churches and religious organizations
  • Government agencies.
  • Non-profit and charity organizations among others

OUR COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

The competition that exists in the industry is stiff simply because the barrier of entry is low making it possible for almost anyone with the finance and business expertise to start this type of business howbeit on a small scale.

Although the industry requires some form of training and expertise, this does not in any way prevent the serious-minded entrepreneur from starting the business and his share of the cake.

The business model we intend to operate on will ease payment, and a wide range of services, and our excellent customer service culture will give us a competitive advantage over our competitors. \

SALES AND MARKETING STRATEGY

The market strategy we adopted is going to be driven basically by professionalism, excellent customer service, honesty and quality service delivery. We will ensure that we build a loyal customer base.

We want to drive sales via the output of our jobs and via referrals from friends and satisfied customers. We are aware of how satisfied customers drive business growth, especially in our type of business.

We will introduce our freight packaging and logistics service business by sending introductory letters alongside our brochure to corporate organizations that are into manufacturing, merchants and warehouse operators, households and key stakeholders.

We will print our fliers and business cards and strategically drop them in offices libraries, public facilities and train stations etc.

SALES STRATEGY

The company will base its sales strategy on increasing the sales from its existing members and also targeting new businesses. For the latter purpose, we will employ a part-time sales representative.

Our sales strategy will be based on systematic person-to-person contacts through referrals, direct mail, telemarketing and the internet.

CONCLUSION

These ideas would certainly make SAMYANKS a magnet of attention to both big and small importers and exporters. We hope to achieve our targets a few months after we receive our license to operate as Customs House Agents.
